Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 23 cattle rescued

Ramban and Chanderkote police have foiled major bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 23 cattle and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station led by SHO Inspector Vijay Kotwal laid a naka near Mehar bridge and a team from Chanderkote laid naka near JP gate under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02BP-6685 and JK02CD-6143.
During checking, police rescued 23 cattle from the vehicles and arrested three bovines’ smugglers.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Kalu, son of Mohammad Bashir of Miran Sahib Jammu, Bashir Ahmed, son of Chirag Din of Miran Sahib Jammu and Sayeed Ali, son of Kalu of Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu.
Cases under FIR Numbers 117/18 and 43/18 under Sections 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act have been registered at Ramban and Chanderkote Police Stations respectively and investigation started.
