Body of a minor boy, who was missing since February 5 from central Kashmir district of Budgam, was on Tuesday recovered under suspicious circumstances from an orchard.
A senior police officer said that Police Station Soibugh received a complaint on February 5, 2021, from one Farooq Malik that his son aged 13-year-old had gone out to buy grocery and did not returned home. “On receiving this report, a FIR was registered and search was launched,” he said.
However, he said panic gripped village Pymus when locals saw body of a minor boy lying in an orchard. “The locals immediately informed the police,” he said, adding that a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
The deceased was later identified as the missing boy. Police have registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident, he said.
He said after completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased will be handed over to his relatives for last rites.
