“BJP’s applying a strategy to defame farmers” Mehbooba Mufti on Deep Sidhu

Mehbooba Mufti recently held a party meeting in Jammu. While talking to media, she talked about Deep Sidhu who was involved in the tractor rally. She said that he was close to BJP and it was party’s strategy to defame the farmers.

“Sidhu is a member of BJP. He’s been with the PM and Home Minister as well. In fact he ran the BJP campaign for Sunny Deol. It is a strategy to defame the farmers.” Mehbooba said.

“26th January is the day of our Constitution but some laws are against it like the farmers bill. It was made against the Farmers’ will. They are afraid of losing their lands.” She added.

Deepu Sidhu, an actor who was involved in the tractor rally and was blamed about instigating the crowd at the Red Fort, was pointed as a BJP ‘stooge’ planted to create ‘chaos’ in farmers’ tractor parade by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Sidhu was found to be connected to Sunny Deol during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, however, Deol who is now a BJP MP, distanced himself from Deep Sidhu saying that he or his family have no links with the actor.
