‘BJP will disappear in 2024’: Choudhary Lal Singh

Former Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology of Jammu and Kashmir and a senior leader of Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party, Choudhary Lal Singh had an exclusive interview with JK Media executive Ashish Kohli. He talked about the Delimitation process in J&K and said that his party will soon provide justice to Jammu region.

Q. How will the leaders provide justice to Jammu when most of them weren’t invited in All Party Meeting? Many even said it wasn’t necessary to call everyone! Your take on this?

Actually the people who’ve quoted this statement don’t belong to Jammu and have no idea what’s going on in the region. If capable people are invited for the meeting, where will these new comers go (sarcastic smile). Public is still in search of them because they disappear in tough times.

Jammu’s representation in the All Party Meeting was a failed one. They called 9 leaders from Kashmir and very few from Jammu. Ghulam Nabi Ji was called as a former CM, not as a party representative. Sitting on the chair doesn’t make you political. When you have to discuss politics, call mature leaders not them who achieved fame overnight.

Tell me any CM of J&K who was successful! Before partition, Jammu had 4 districts while Kashmir had only 2. Later, both the regions were given 10 districts each – a failed counting! Is this justice? They only made schemes. Is this politics or Social Welfare Department? When you are a politician – Live like a politician and speak like a politician.

I know politics. Speak to me. ‘J&K Votes’ book was published in 2002. J&K had 2 CMs then. Jammu had more votes than Kashmir. What did the CM do for Jammu then? Kashmir had 46 seats in the year 2002 and total votes were 28,84,848 whereas Jammu had 31,06,114 votes which is more.

Where does the Government count Kashmiri Pandit population and the West Pakistani refugees population? I was MLA in 1996 and in 2002 too. Then in 2003 I became a Minister. So much gap in the votes and was filled by census in 2011. Census at this time was beneficial because Kashmir domination census doesn’t exist.

Our 4 seats are more than Kashmir as per this book. If elections would be conducted on the basis of 2011 census then I would suggest 2002 book. In the greed of becoming MLA and distributing areas, BJP isn’t doing anything for Jammu. It’s the time for Delimitation change because anyways BJP will disappear in 2024.

Governor rule was never a result of Jammu conditions instead it was Kashmir. The MLAs invited in the All Party Meeting never received their fees back depending on their percentage of votes. 90% of Kashmir doesn’t vote and during elections, 70% vote is calculated from Jammu and Kashmir. Why do you combine both? You yourself see a MLA in Kashmir received only 534 votes and won by 120 votes.

Talking to these Ministers who are in race of saving their seats is useless. Talk to the public of Kashmir who don’t cast their votes. Ask them why. Separate Jammu from Kashmir where people aren’t interested in Politics. Go in Jammu’s areas like Basohli, RS Pura, Poonch, Rajouri, Samba, Doda and other places. People actively take part in politics.

Leaders sitting in Delhi are still unable to understand the problems of Jammu. We have an area of 26,000 square kilometre whereas Kashmir is just 15,000 square kilometres. Kashmir has adopted hilly areas but the leaders never went there. It’s like adopting children and not knowing about their studies (smiles). At least go and talk to the residents.

There are currently 36 parties in Jammu and Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan is one of them. I wasn’t called in the meeting. That’s ok. But what about the voice of Jammu? If covid didn’t exist, my party would’ve shown how politics is done. We are ready to fight to make Jammu a separate state. Dogras get up and fight for your right.

Q. Sir you said those unaware of the total area are unable to talk about Delimitation, then how are they capable of choosing CM?

Do you think it’s the truth? They are joking about it (laughs). No one becomes the CM after one day of politics. It’s like dreaming and never coming true. I assure you that Choudhary Lal Singh’s party will win and provide justice to Jammu. The Government itself said about trifurcation and is denying itself. They themselves said the 2011 census is wrong and made it the base.

It’s my request to all the residents of Jammu – Unite! Come together and stand under the flag of our party. Demand a separate State and get justified.

According to them, the boy was innocent and didn’t have any personal grudges. However, the dead body’s torn clothes and broken bones have proved it to be a murder.

“It was morning when my son went for a haircut. Someone informed me about his death in the evening. While I rushed to the place, I saw around 200 people around the dead body. It’s a murder and we want justice.” said the boy’s father

“It’s a forestry area where hardly people are seen. How did the boy reach there? He was first killed and then thrown from a height. The Police hasn’t helped us yet. In fact, they told us to compromise. This is beyond limits.” added another

The family has demanded justice and requested Jammu and Kashmir Police to investigate the matter. “Police must check the call records of the boy’s phone and find the culprit. We want the murderer to be sentenced to death.” they said

Pegasus Snoopgate Row: Shiv Sena Protest Against Phone Tapping Case in Jammu

Manish Saini led the Shivsena party on Friday protested against the Central Government in the Pegasus Snoopgate case. The protestors prepared a bier and put their smartphones on it, showcasing the last rites of the smartphones. The party demanded that a thorough investigation should take place in the case.

While talking to the media, Saini said, “today, we are protesting against the phone incident. So many political leaders, Journalists and business people have become victims of this phone tapping incident. A third person now sees the data in our smartphones which earlier belonged to us, so we are destroying them as we don’t want our privacy to get affected. My appeal to PM Narendra Modi is that a probe by a free agency should take place, and a Data protection bill should be introduced in the Country”.

Yesterday Senior Congress leaders, along with youth congress, protested against the same issue and demanded the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah.

“It’s Parmatma-nirbhar Bharat not Aatmanirbhar Bharat under Modi raj”: JKPP Secretary Gagan

Inflation is at an all-time high in the Country. The petrol and diesel prices are increasing rapidly, and the people of J&K suffered a significant setback when they came to know that ethanol is being mixed in the fuel. Several daily wagers, Asha workers, Dental Surgeons are on the roads protesting to demand justice for them. Taking a jibe at all these JK Panthers Party State Secretary Gagan slammed the Union Government and demanded the resignation of all Union Ministers, including PM Narendra Modi.

Watch Exclusive Interview

While speaking, Gagan said, “we should be thankful to the government that we finally see good days. But, if BJP talks about these good days, we demand that they return us our bad days. When BJP was in opposition, their leaders were the first to come on the roads with LPG cylinders wearing garlands of onion and potatoes. Instead of hunger strikes, people should now adopt political trends to raise their voices as with early trends, the Union Government will not take any action”.

“In the BJP’s regime, unemployment soared, inflation has raged, and GDP has deteriorated. People have voted them to bring down all these matters, but instead, they have contributed to the issues. Now it’s high time, and the Modi Government should step down. Our BSF/CISF Aspirants, PDD/PWD Daily wagers, Dental Surgeons are on the road. Many of our daily wagers die every day, and there is no one to compensate them”, he added.
