Srinagar , Jan 8 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Srinagar Unit on Wednesday organised a ‘Vocal for Local’ Felicitation Programme at its District Office in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, to honour local artisans and entrepreneurs who had set up stalls during the Swadeshi Mela Programme.

The event was aimed at promoting indigenous products and strengthening the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat by encouraging public support for locally manufactured goods. Artisans and entrepreneurs were felicitated for their contribution towards preserving traditional crafts and boosting the local economy.

Ashok Koul, General Secretary, BJP Jammu and Kashmir, attended the programme as the chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of local artisans and entrepreneurs and stressed the importance of supporting indigenous products to ensure sustainable economic growth. He said such initiatives play a crucial role in empowering local talent and generating employment.

District President BJP Srinagar, Adv. Sheikh Salam, along with party leaders including Bilal Parray, was present on the occasion. They reiterated the party’s commitment to promoting local industries and providing platforms for artisans to showcase their products.

The programme featured an exhibition of locally manufactured goods, highlighting the diversity and quality of indigenous products from the region. Media persons were present to cover the event, which underscored BJP’s continued focus on strengthening grassroots entrepreneurship.
