‘Run for unity’ is being organised in various parts of the country Wednesday to commemorate the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, even as the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, was unveiled in Gujarat.
Likewise, in Jammu as well ‘Run for unity’ was organised by BJP as a tribute to Sardar Patel. The event was held to encourage people of J&K to run together.
It started early in the morning from Satwari Chowk, Jammu. BJP State President, Ravinder Raina, Ex. Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta and Legislator, Jugal Kishore also participated in the marathon.
Speaking on the event, Ravinder Raina said that Sardar Patel Ji worked hard to make India one. It’s only right that we remember him today.
where as Kavinder Gupta said that Patel was known for leading India’s freedom struggle from the front and was instrumental in unifying people of India together and protecting freedom and integrity of the country for which he is also referred to as the “Ironman of India”.
Large number of people from Jammu participated in this marathon to spread awareness about Sardar Patel’s contribution to Indian history.
The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is also celebrated as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) to commemorate the legacy of India’s first Home Minister.
