District administration Samba, continuing its anti-encroachment drive at Birpur, today, dismantled temporary structures and Juggies built on the state land adjoining SSS plant.
The encroachment attempt at the above said place was made just four days after a cluster of illegal structures was dismantled in the same area.
“A team of Revenue officials and police, under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, used JCB machine and all the Jhuggis, sheds, which were built on state and private land were dismantled”, the operation saw demolition of 21 structures which were adjoining the farm house land- demolished on August 22. An FIR has also been registered against the encroachers on 22 August added the revenue Officer”.
The anti encroachment drive was conducted by Tehsildar Bari Brahmana Qaiser Malik, SHO Arjun Singh, besides other officials of revenue and police.
Giving details, it was informed that just 4 days after a piece of state and private land was retrieved at Birpur village from the possession of an affluent political leader, fresh attempts were made to raise sheds and juggies adjacent to the SSS Bitumen hot mix plant. “However the attempt was foiled by the timely intervention of the district administration. In the process an older cluster of structures was also demolished at the place” the officials said.
