Begging Racket: UP Minor Boys Begs In Jammu

JK Media executive today met 3 minor boys Kaman, Arjun, and Ashish who are residents of UP but currently living in Jammu. Here they beg to enjoy their livelihood. While talking with our executive Ashish said “Here I am living with my grandparents and my parents are living in UP only. In the morning we beg and in the evening we go to a Christian school at Chatthe where they teach us. We beg on our own and no one forces us”. ” I live here with my parents and they sell mats. I study in class 1″, Arjun said. Kaman said, “earlier I was studying in class 4 but now have left the school”. Kaman also recited a story while talking.

Although none of the boys told our executive about anyone forcing them to beg earlier, we have seen minor boys and girls begging near traffic signals. We appeal to the District Magistrate to investigate the matter if there is any racket that is sending minor children from other states into Jammu to beg.
