J&K, 22 Sept: Recently the LG administration through an order granted the much needed and awaited holiday of Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday anniversary which now will be observe on September 23 every year across Jammu & Kashmir.
Yuva Rajput Sabha had been agitating in support of this demand for a long time. It was their struggle which turned their protest for the holiday in a mass movement, which finally culminated in the announcement of the Maharaja’s Holiday by the local govt.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, September 23 of every year will be observed as a holiday in government offices and educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir, but what about the private institutions will they observe Maharaja’s leave tomorrow?, the report said.
It is a humble appeal to the private sector of Jammu & kashmir to please announce leave tomorrow on september 23 to celebrate the Maharaja’s birthday, the report said.
Maharaja Hari Singh was a great educationist, progressive thinker, social reformer, and a towering man of ideas and ideals and tomorrow’s public holiday will be a fitting tribute to his rich legacy.
