Amid Corona Pandemic And Farmer’s Protest Budget Session Begins Today

The budget session for the year 2021-22 has begun today. The session will begin with President Ram Nath Kovind addressing the members of both the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha seated in 3 different locations in the view of the Covid-19 pandemic. This year the budget session is set to be strong as 18 opposing parties including Congress have boycotted the President’s address. The crucial budget session has begun amid the corona pandemic and farmer’s protest.
As per the reports, the Secretariat has decided to divide the budget session into 2 parts. The first part will take place from 29th January to 15th February and the second part will take place between 8th March to 8th April. Also, the session has been divided into 2-time slots of 5 hours each. The upper house will attend the session from 9 am to 2 pm and the lower house will attend the session from 3 pm to 8 pm. On 1st February Nirmala Sitharaman will announce the budget of India for the year 2021-22. Along with the budget of India, the budget of J&K and Ladakh will also be announced during that time.
Many officials believe that the budget can witness chaos as the opposition parties are set to corner the Union Government on various issues like recession, jobs, handling of the coronavirus crisis, Ladakh border, row, etc.
Proper Covid protocols are being followed during the Budget Session.
