S Balvinder Singh Social Activist along with Civil Society members S Manjit Singh & S. T. P Singh handed over thirty Plastic bags for packaging of dead body of Corona Victims, provided to us by Deadbarm Enterprises Haryana, half of them are having some transparent portion so that the face of the corona victims should remain visible and also for the identification of the dead body.
Singh said that he have raised this issue in a Press Conference held a month ago and urged upon the UT administration and Official of Health department to kindly arrange plastic bags having at least 2*2 transparent portion for packing the dead bodies of Corona victims so that in agony and distress of losing their loved ones can be pacified fractionally by looking the face of their loved ones before the performing of last rites, which is the earnest desire of all of every one while bidding final farewell to the deceased.
Singh said we are thankful to the Principal GMC Sh N C Dingra & Superintendent Dr Dara Singh for conceding our just and genuine submission and initiated the process for its procurement. Balvinder said we are specially thankful to Dr Yashpal Sharma MD J&K Medical Supplies corporation Ltd, who initiated fast track tendering process and finally been able to get quotations and samples from different suppliers for supply of plastic bags for packing the corona victims dead bodies having 2*2 transparent portion. The whole process will be finalized by Monday and am sure the said bags shall reach here within a weeks time and shall be provided to both Jammu & Kashmir soon and finally peoples then shall be able to see the face of their dear ones before giving final farewell.
Balvinder further said that we had taken up various issues during this pandemic and in context with the covid-19 and we are great full to the UT Administration, Divisional Commissioner Jammu and other District officers for resolving the issues like fixing of Covid-19 test rates, Giving permission for home quarantine to asymptomatic patients etc, in the interest of general public. It is hoped that in future also issues will be resolved by way of public participation with the administration.
