November 30`In its sustained efforts to curb illegal mining activities, Shopian Police have seized two JCBs involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals from the Turkwangam area.
During routine patrolling, a police party from Police Post Turkwangam intercepted two JCBs found extracting minerals illegally without valid royalty documents. Accordingly, FIR No. 119/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated.
Shopian Police reiterate their commitment to safeguarding the district’s natural resources and ensuring strict action against those involved in illegal mining. The public is urged to extend cooperation by reporting such activities. The identity of informants will be kept confidential, and stringent legal action shall be taken against violators`
