Another family of Danai village, Sumb block, Samba is looking for the day when they will have their own house under the PM Grameen Aawas Yojana. The family belongs to Chain Chand who is a hawker in Jammu.
The conditions of their house are hurting and looking at them shows that still many BPL families have not been benefited under the scheme. In his family Chain Chand, has a wife and 4 children who are studying in a Government school. For the past 2 years, he has been approaching the administration to provide him a house under the Aawas Yojana.

While talking to the media his wife said “my husband is a daily wager in Jammu. We have 4 children. For 2.5 years we have submitted our file but haven’t received any benefit of the scheme. We are poor people so we can’t construct a house with our own money but we are waiting for the day the government will provide us with a house. We have spent many days and nights under terrible conditions.
During the night no one of us sleeps as the whole room is broken and many times wild animals come near the house. Also during the rainy season, many times the roof gets blown away by winds and water comes inside the room. The RDD officials are giving us false hopes. My husband stays in Jammu and he visits us once a month and in his absence, it becomes very difficult for me to look after the children. If we get a house then at least we can feel safe”.
Many times with our videos and articles many people and NGOs have helped such BPL families and to help this family you can contact them at- 7051195705 (Chain Chand)
