Srinagar, Feb 18 : Security personnel detected a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) on the Srinagar–Baramulla Highway and successfully defused it, averting a potential major incident.
Authorities said the area was immediately cordoned off and specialized bomb disposal teams were deployed to neutralize the device. Following the operation, traffic on the highway has been restored.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the device and identify those responsible. Security forces have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious objects or activity.
