In a significant move aimed at boosting tourism and restoring normalcy, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the reopening of several prominent tourist destinations across Jammu and Kashmir.

The reopened locations include Yousmarg and Doodhpathri in Budgam, as well as Dandipora Park in Kokernag.

Authorities have also reopened Peer Ki Gali, along with the scenic spots of Dubjan and Padpawan in Shopian.

In Srinagar, both Astanpora and the famous Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden have been reopened to the public.

Further north, Thajwas Glacier and Hung Park in Ganderbal are now accessible to visitors.

Additionally, the picturesque Wular Lake and Watlab in Baramulla have also been reopened.

Officials stated that the decision was taken after a thorough assessment of the security situation and necessary safety measures. The reopening of these destinations is expected to provide a major boost to the tourism sector and local economy, while allowing visitors to once again experience the natural beauty of the Valley.

Authorities have urged tourists to follow all guidelines and cooperate with local administration to ensure a safe and pleasant travel experience.

3 tourist spots in Jammu Division- Devi Pindi in Reasi, Mahu Mangat in Ramban and Mughal Maidan in Kishtwar to be reopened immediately. 3 sites in Kashmir Division- Gurez, Athwatoo, Bangus and 1 site in Jammu Division- Ramkund in Ramban will be reopened once snow gets cleared.

All major tourist destinations were closed due to security reasons after Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22 last year.
