Srinagar, Jan 24: A power lineman sustained serious injuries after receiving an electric shock while repairing a transmission line in Batpora Kanihama, Magam, Budgam district.
The injured, Bashir Ahmad Dar, was working to restore electricity disrupted by recent heavy snowfall. He collapsed at the site and was first taken to Sub District Hospital Magam before being referred to a Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment due to the severity of his condition.
Police have registered an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident, recording statements from staff and officials involved.
Power outages have affected several parts of the Kashmir Valley following heavy snowfall, with restoration teams working in challenging conditions across multiple locations.
