China , Jan 19 : China has strongly criticised recent remarks by the United States related to Greenland, accusing Washington of invoking the so-called “China threat” to serve its own strategic interests.

Responding to media queries on developments linked to Greenland, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said the United States should stop exaggerating or hyping the “China threat” as a pretext to pursue what it called selfish geopolitical objectives.

A spokesperson for the ministry said China has consistently respected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries and has no intention of engaging in power politics or confrontation in the Arctic region. The spokesperson added that China’s approach to Arctic affairs is based on cooperation, dialogue, and mutual respect.

China also urged the United States to view international relations in an objective and rational manner, cautioning that politicising regional issues and promoting bloc politics could undermine global stability and cooperation.
