Poonch, Jan 11: The historic Mughal Road was reopened for vehicular traffic on Sunday after remaining closed for the past seven days due to adverse weather conditions and road clearance operations.
Confirming the reopening, SSP Traffic Rural, Farooq Qaisar, urged motorists to exercise utmost caution while travelling on the road, particularly in high-altitude stretches, in view of the prevailing weather and road conditions.
He said that vehicular movement on the Mughal Road will be strictly regulated as per the prescribed time schedule, with traffic allowed only between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. The timings, he added, will be enforced strictly to ensure smooth traffic regulation and the safety of commuters.
SSP Traffic Rural appealed to commuters to follow traffic advisories, avoid unnecessary travel, maintain lane discipline, and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on duty to ensure safe and hassle-free movement.
Authorities said the situation will continue to be closely monitored, and any changes in traffic regulations will be communicated in a timely manner in the interest of public safety.
