Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that nearly 48 percent of households in Srinagar are now receiving round-the-clock electricity supply after the successful implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) with zero power cuts.
In a post on X, the Office of the Chief Minister congratulated the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) for adding 83 more areas in Srinagar to the 24-hour power supply network following a successful RDSS trial.

“With this addition, 108 areas in Srinagar are now enjoying uninterrupted electricity supply, benefiting around 1.25 lakh households, which is nearly 48 percent of the city,” the Chief Minister said.
He added that similar power distribution upgrades are underway in other districts of Jammu and Kashmir with the aim of ensuring uninterrupted 24×7 electricity supply across the Union Territory.
