Srinagar, December 23: In view of the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, security arrangements were tightened at Ghanta Ghar, Lal Chowk on Monday.
Joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF carried out checking and frisking of people in and around the area to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Security personnel were seen conducting thorough checks while monitoring movement at the busy commercial hub.
Officials said the heightened security measures are precautionary and aimed at ensuring peaceful celebrations during the festive season.
