DECEMBER 17 , A shocking case of high-tech cheating has come to light in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district during the Delhi Police online recruitment examination. Hackers allegedly used underground wiring and remote access technology to hack the examination system and leak the question paper.
The incident took place in Ghagwal area, where the accused rented a room near the examination center. From there, they laid underground Wi-Fi cables connecting directly to the exam center’s network. Using this setup, the hackers remotely controlled the system and helped selected candidates cheat during the exam.
Police recovered three laptops, four mobile phones, and a scanner from the spot. However, the accused managed to flee before being arrested, leaving behind all electronic equipment.
The scam was uncovered on Wednesday when police heard suspicious sounds coming from the rented room near the examination center. Upon reaching the location, the suspects escaped. Preliminary investigation suggests that the gang had been operating for nearly a month.
Following the incident, authorities recovered underground wires linking the room to the examination center. A detailed investigation is underway to track down the absconding accused and to determine whether the gang was involved in similar activities at other examination centers.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the security of online recruitment examinations, prompting authorities to tighten surveillance and cybersecurity measures.
