Srinagar, Dec 16: Security forces recovered arms, ammunition, and other incriminating material from a graveyard in the Tar Natipora area of Srinagar during a late-night operation, sources said on Tuesday.
According to officials, a joint team of security forces carried out the search during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday in connection with an ongoing investigation linked to a case registered at Police Station Bemina under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
During the operation, the team recovered a Chinese hand grenade, around 100 grams of gunpowder, ten live AK-47 rounds, and nearly twenty posters from the graveyard premises.
The recovery was conducted in the presence of concerned officials, and all seized items have been taken into custody for further examination. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the concealment of the material.
