Srinagar, Dec 15: A labourer lost his life on Monday after sustaining critical injuries while working at a stone quarry in the Panthachowk area of Srinagar, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Bhar Din Bali, son of Roshan Din Bali, a resident of Kari Ramban, aged around 40 years.
According to officials, the labourer was loading stones onto a tipper vehicle when a stone accidentally struck his head, causing severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to SMHS Hospital by his co-workers, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal accident.
