Srinagar, Dec 6:Ishfaq Gowher: The National Conference on Saturday strongly criticised the continued uncertainty over age relaxation for civil service aspirants, saying the delay from Lok Bhawan has created unnecessary distress among thousands of candidates across Jammu and Kashmir.

Responding to public queries on social media, the party’s spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq MLA from zadibal said there was no justification whatsoever for raising fresh questions or seeking additional clarifications once the Hon’ble Chief Minister had approved and forwarded the file for age relaxation.

“If the Chief Minister has already cleared the file, what further queries are required? The same provision has been approved multiple times over the years. What was correct then remains correct today,” the spokesperson said.
He emphasised that the Chief Minister has clearly stated that in view of the ongoing travel disruptions and unprecedented pressure on aspirants, the examinations should have been postponed well in advance.

Targeting Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, the National Conference said he should “stop indulging in petty politics at a time when students need support, not political stunts.”
“In a dual power centre, the LOP must use his position to put pressure on Lok Bhawan instead of misleading people. This is not the moment for theatrics. Aspirants are suffering and the responsibility lies squarely with those blocking timely decisions,” the spokesperson added.
Reiterating the party’s unequivocal stand, the National Conference said:
1. Age relaxation must be granted without delay.
2. The JKPSC exams must be postponed in the interest of fairness and equal opportunity.
According to the spokesperson, this position reflects not only the view of the elected government but also the unanimous stance of the entire National Conference leadership.

“Anything beyond this from any quarter is either a distortion of facts or an attempt to divert attention. We stand with the youth, and we will continue to respond to every query on social media to ensure transparency,” he said.
The party also appealed to authorities to resolve the matter urgently, stating that aspirants should not be made to suffer due to administrative indecision.
