Kashmir Dec 5 : Kashmir experienced a sharp drop in temperatures on Saturday, with Shopian recording the coldest night at minus 6.4°C. Pulwama and Pampore followed at minus 5.2°C, while Baramulla and Anantnag saw minimums of minus 5.1°C and minus 4.9°C respectively.
Srinagar Airport recorded minus 4.8°C, Srinagar city minus 4.1°C, and Pahalgam minus 4.4°C. Other areas also faced sub-zero conditions: Qazigund at minus 4.2°C, Budgam minus 4.1°C, Awantipora minus 3.8°C, Kupwara minus 3.5°C, Bandipora minus 3.4°C, Ganderbal minus 3.1°C, Sonamarg minus 3.0°C, and Gulmarg minus 2.6°C. Kulgam settled at minus 1.2°C, while Kokernag was the warmest in the Valley at minus 0.2°C.
Authorities have warned that cold wave conditions are expected to persist, with night temperatures remaining well below freezing across most parts of the region.
