Kathua Dec 5 : Three members of a marriage party died and two others were injured after their car rolled into a deep gorge on Bhandar Road in Bani tehsil of Kathua district on Thursday evening.
The vehicle was carrying five people to a wedding when it veered off the road and plunged into the gorge. Locals launched a rescue effort and recovered two bodies from the spot, while a third victim died on the way to the hospital.
The injured were shifted to Bani Hospital. They were identified as Shashi Pal Sharma of Mahanpur and Mohan Singh, 22, son of Khem Raj.
The deceased were identified as Rakesh Kumar of Gatti, who succumbed en route to the hospital, and Jeevan, son of Balibhader from Sitti Kote, along with Vicky, son of Khem Raj, both of whom died at the scene.
Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
