Ayodhya , Nov 25 : The first pictures of the ‘Dharma Dhwaja’ to be hoisted atop the Ram Temple were released on Tuesday, setting the stage for the grand ceremony.

The specially crafted flag, measuring 22 feet by 11 feet, has been designed by a parachute specialist from Ahmedabad. Weighing between two and three kilograms, it has been reinforced to withstand the wind conditions atop the 161-feet summit of the temple and the 42-feet flagpole.

The flag carries a radiant Sun, seen as a symbol of Lord Ram’s brilliance and valour, along with the ‘Om’ symbol and the outline of the Kovidara tree.

Regarded as a representation of dignity, unity and cultural continuity, the Dharma Dhwaja reflects the ideals of Ramrajya. It will be hoisted on the temple’s Shikhar, built in the traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style. The nearly 800-metre boundary wall around the temple has been constructed in a South Indian style, highlighting the structure’s architectural diversity.
