Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, today met Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Shri J.P. Nadda, in New Delhi.
During the meeting, the LG discussed several critical issues related to the healthcare needs and public welfare of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
LG Gupta highlighted the challenges of high-altitude healthcare, the need for upgraded medical infrastructure, improved specialist availability, and better access to essential medicines and diagnostics across remote regions.
He requested enhanced central support for strengthening district hospitals, establishing advanced emergency services, and expanding telemedicine facilities to ensure timely treatment for the people living in far-flung areas of Ladakh.
Union Minister J.P. Nadda assured full cooperation from the Ministry and reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to improving healthcare services and welfare initiatives in the strategic Himalayan region.
The meeting is expected to accelerate key development projects and bring substantial improvements to Ladakh’s public health network in the coming months.
