New Delhi: India and Afghanistan have agreed to appoint Trade Attachés in each other’s embassies as part of efforts to revive bilateral trade and strengthen economic cooperation.
The announcement was made by Anand Prakash, Joint Secretary heading the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran division in the Ministry of External Affairs. He said both sides have committed to reactivating existing trade mechanisms to boost commercial engagement and ease trade-related processes.
The move is expected to streamline communication, improve coordination on trade issues, and support smoother movement of goods between the two countries.
Further details on timelines and operational modalities are expected to be worked out in upcoming consultations.
