Poonch, 19 November 2025:
Acting on specific information, Surankote Police laid a special naka near the petrol pump at Mirza Morh. During checking, a pedestrian was signalled to stop, and upon frisking, 07 grams of chitta (heroin-like substance) was recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Nisar Ahmed S/o Lal Hussain, R/o Potha. He was immediately arrested on the spot. Accordingly, FIR No. 262/2025 U/S 8/20/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Surankote for further investigation.
Preliminary enquiry indicates that the accused is a habitual drug peddler and has been previously involved in multiple NDPS cases.
