Akhtarabad, Punjab – Unknown gunmen have killed Burhan, also known as Zaid, a senior commander of ISIS Khorasan (ISKP), in the Patak area of Akhtarabad city in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
Burhan was a prominent figure within ISKP and closely linked to key leaders Qari Fateh and Abu Bakr. He played a significant role during the group’s Temkin period and was reportedly involved in major operations in Afghanistan’s eastern region.
Security analysts say his elimination deals a severe blow to ISKP networks operating in Pakistan, further weakening their operational capabilities and regional presence.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, and no group has yet claimed responsibility.
This development comes amid ongoing counter-terrorism operations in Pakistan aimed at dismantling extremist networks and curbing the influence of ISIS-affiliated groups.
