New Delhi, November 13:
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review the Red Fort blast, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday convened a high-level meeting with top intelligence and security officials to assess the progress of the ongoing investigation and security preparedness in the national capital.
The meeting, held at the North Block, was attended by senior officers from the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Delhi Police, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Sources said the focus of the meeting remained on the findings emerging from the probe into the Red Fort area car blast, which claimed 13 lives earlier this week.
Officials briefed the Home Minister on the latest developments, including the arrest of multiple suspects linked to the Faridabad terror module, the recovery of explosives and digital evidence from Al-Falah College, and the ongoing manhunt for remaining operatives connected to the network. The meeting also reviewed security measures across Delhi and its adjoining regions, with emphasis on strengthening surveillance near key installations, historical monuments, and crowded areas.
According to sources, intelligence inputs indicating possible attempts by cross-border handlers to revive sleeper cells in the region were also discussed. The Home Minister directed agencies to maintain heightened coordination and ensure that every link in the chain — from suppliers to financiers — is thoroughly investigated.
Officials have been asked to submit detailed status reports within 48 hours, while state police units have been instructed to maintain maximum alert in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Jammu & Kashmir.
The series of meetings at the top level — first chaired by the Prime Minister and now by the Home Minister — underscores the seriousness with which the government is pursuing the Red Fort blast case.
