The investigation into the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort has officially been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). A detailed report on the progress of the case has also been submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for review.
According to official sources, a special NIA counter-terror team has reached the blast site to take charge of forensic examination, collection of CCTV footage, and analysis of digital evidence. The agency is coordinating closely with the Delhi Police Special Cell, Intelligence Bureau, and other central security units to ensure a comprehensive investigation.
Forensic experts are currently examining materials recovered from the vehicle involved in the explosion. DNA samples are being matched with family samples from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, to confirm the identity of the suspected driver. Investigators are also tracing the car’s route through toll records and surveillance cameras.
Earlier in the day, Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security review meeting to assess the situation and inter-agency coordination. Senior officials from the NIA, IB, Delhi Police, and other intelligence bodies were present. The matter is expected to be further reviewed at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 12.
Meanwhile, Delhi remains under tight security, with enhanced checking at key installations, transport hubs, and government offices. The case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act.
