Kathua, Oct 26 — Police have registered a case against a group of Christian missionaries accused of attempting to convert local villagers to Christianity by offering them false assurances of relief from poverty and illness.
According to officials, the incident took place in a rural area of Kathua district, where the missionaries were reportedly persuading villagers to change their religion.
SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma, has directed strict action in the matter. A case has been registered under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway.
