Three drug smugglers injured while trying to escape after firing at police, admitted to GMC Kathua

Sensation spread at the Keerian Gandayal outpost under the jurisdiction of the Lakhanpur police station when police signaled a bike coming from Punjab towards Jammu and Kashmir to stop during a checkpoint.

Three youths riding a bike opened fire on the police party and tried to flee. Police immediately gave chase, during which their bike collided near the Keerian Gharial bridge. All three accused were seriously injured in the accident.

According to sources, one of them is said to be in critical condition. All have been brought to GMC Kathua for treatment, where a heavy police force has been deployed.

According to information, the three injured are believed to be associated with a drug smuggling gang and it is suspected that they have links to Pakistan. Although this has not yet been officially confirmed, sources believe these individuals are involved in drug trafficking.

SHO Lakhanpur Police Station Officer Tariq Ahmed, DSP (SOG) Ashwani Kumar Sharma, and other senior officers arrived at the scene following the incident. The entire matter is under serious investigation.
