- Pakistan against any misadventure across the Sir Creek area of Gujarat.
Speaking at the Lakki Nala Military Garrison in Kutch district, the Defence Minister said — “The road to Karachi goes through Sir Creek” — reminding Pakistan of India’s military resolve. He also recalled that during the 1965 war, the Indian Army had reached Lahore, underlining India’s capability to respond to provocations.
Singh expressed concern over Pakistan setting up military infrastructure along Sir Creek — a disputed area even after seven decades of Independence. He said India has tried diplomacy several times, but Pakistan’s “malafide intentions” are evident through its recent activities.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that India has tightened border security in Jammu and Kashmir as well. Heavy weaponry and fresh deployments have been made in Poonch, Rajouri, and other sensitive sectors, indicating heightened alertness on both sides.
