In a deeply disturbing development, Police in Beerwah have arrested a 23-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting four minor children in the Ranipora area. The incident has sparked outrage and alarm across the local community.
The accused has been identified as Faizal Ahmad Bhat, son of Gh. Rasool, and a resident of Ranipora, Beerwah. His arrest followed multiple formal complaints alleging sexual misconduct involving children.
According to police sources, the victims include three young boys and one girl, all reportedly aged between 5 and 9 years. The gravity of the charges has sent shockwaves throughout the region, prompting an immediate and coordinated response from law enforcement.
A formal case has been registered under FIR No. 134/2025, invoking serious legal provisions, including:
• Sections 5/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act,
• Sections 351(2) and 65(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A senior police official confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway. “We are treating this case with the utmost seriousness. The well-being and protection of children are non-negotiable,” the official stated.
