The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered a detailed inquiry into serious allegations against Khurshid Ahmad Dar, Chemist and District Mineral Officer (DMO) Pulwama, who is also holding additional charge of DMO Kulgam. The move follows a formal complaint lodged by CPI(M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami.
As per Government Order No. 57-JK(MNG) of 2025 issued by the Mining Department, Nisar Ahmad, Joint Director, Geology & Mining Kashmir—who also holds additional charge of Joint Director Jammu—has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer. He has been tasked with probing the matter linked to FIR No. 21/2021.
The order, signed by Anil Kumar Singh (IAS), Principal Secretary to the Government, Mining Department, directs the Inquiry Officer to submit a report with recommendations within 15 days.
Tarigami’s complaint, referred through D.O. No. MYT/MLA(K)/331-2 dated May 29, 2025, led to this administrative action. However, the specific nature of the allegations mentioned in the FIR has not been disclosed publicly in the order.
A copy of the order has been forwarded to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Director Geology & Mining J&K, and other concerned officials, including the officer under inquiry.
