“Peace will not be purchased—it will be earned through justice and firm action,” says LG

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has made it clear that the Jammu and Kashmir administration is fully committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots. Speaking during a public function, the LG emphasized that peace will not come through compromises, but by dismantling the entire structure that enables violence.
He stated, “Innocent people will be protected, but those found guilty will face strict action. There is no place for those who support terror in any form.”
Highlighting past injustices, LG Sinha said some people involved in anti-national activities were given government jobs in earlier regimes, while victims of terrorism were ignored. “That chapter is closed. Justice now belongs to the victims,” he asserted.
He added that on July 13, appointment letters were given to 40 terrorism-affected families in Baramulla. “These are youth who lost their fathers during conflict. Today, the government stands with them,” the LG said.
He praised the growing peace and development in the region, noting that “pens and laptops have replaced stones, schools run without shutdowns, and youth are shaping startups.”
The LG also celebrated the return of cultural activities like Eid Melas, Muharram processions, and full-house cinemas. “This is the real transformation — a New Jammu and Kashmir,” he declared.
Calling for public support, he urged citizens to join hands with security forces and protect the peace earned through sacrifice.
