Ganderbal, July 19:
In a tough crackdown on traffic violations, ARTO Ganderbal, under the directions of the Worthy Transport Commissioner J&K, launched a massive enforcement drive across the district, checking over 350 vehicles and e-challaning 67 for flouting traffic laws.

During the drive, the team booked violators for serious offences under the Motor Vehicles Act. These included driving without speed limit devices (41 cases), not wearing seatbelts (11), overloading passengers (8), riding without helmets (2), driving without valid insurance (1), and other violations (4). The expected penalty collection from these violations stands at ₹1.05 lakh, reflecting the administration’s zero-tolerance stance on traffic rule violations.

In a firm message to habitual violators, the enforcement team seized 25 driving licenses, 4 route permits, and 1 registration certificate for suspension and cancellation.

Officials stated that such stringent drives will continue to curb rash driving, enforce traffic discipline, and ensure public safety across Ganderbal.
