A sudden fire broke out early morning at the NHPC Labour Union Office in Kishtwar, causing extensive damage to property. The blaze engulfed the Union Office building, damaged three vehicles due to fire flames parked near the union office, one computer shop, and resulting in the loss of one cow shed belonging to Tanvir Ahmed located near Union office Kishtwar.

After getting the information, rescue teams including SHO Police Station Kishtwar Insp Firdous Ahme, the Fire & Emergency Services Kishtwar, Red Cross Society Kishtwar and Locals immediately rushed to the spot. The fire was brought under control before it could spread further. Teams from the Red Cross Society and dedicated youth from Semna Colony also extended timely support during the operation.

No human casualties or any type of injury have been reported in the said fire incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and an investigation is underway.
