Srinagar, July 16 : A delegation from the Jammu & Kashmir Dragon Boat Association today called on Yasha Mudgal IAS, to congratulate her on assuming charge as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department.
The delegation was led by M.S. Punoo, IPS (Retd.), President of the Association along with Er. Aamir Ali, former Director of Disaster Management and Vice President of the Association. Other members included Shabir Ahmed (Working Secretary), Zain Ul Aabidin (national player who has represented India four times), Zahoor Ahmed Latto (international gold medalist) and Farooq Ahmed Bhat (coach of Team India).
The members of the association warmly welcomed Ms. Mudgal and extended their full support to the department in promoting water sports, especially dragon boat racing, across Jammu and Kashmir. They also shared insights on the growing popularity of the sport and the achievements of J&K athletes on national and international platforms.
Commissioner/Secretary Yasha Mudgal appreciated the efforts of the association and assured all possible support for further strengthening water sports infrastructure and opportunities for youth engagement in adventure sports in the region.
