Srinagar, 22 May : Amid rising temperatures and in anticipation of a heatwave, Authorities in Kashmir have announced revised timings starting Monday. Schools within municipal limits will now operate from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, while schools outside municipal limits will function from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Officials stated that the decision was made following requests from parents to ease the impact of heat on students. While summer vacations are also being considered, no final decision has been made yet due to the academic time already lost during recent Indo pak tensions. The new timings will take effect from Monday.
