Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level security review with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Home Secretary Govind Mohan here.The meeting comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan and follows a series of consultations Modi has held with the country’s top defence and security officials.
A day earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh met Modi and is understood to have discussed the post-attack security scenario.
This string of top-level meetings began on Saturday, when Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi updated the Prime Minister on developments in the Arabian Sea’s critical maritime zones.
Meanwhile, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh today met the Prime Minister and is understood to have briefed him about the combat readiness of the armed forces against the backdrop of increasing tensions between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack.
While the Indian Navy is maintaining a high alert in the Arabian Sea in view of Pakistan’s naval drills, the frontline fighter jets of the Indian Air Force have been carrying out long-range sorties.
