JAMMU, Feb 3: Thieves targeted another house in the broad daylight in Sarika Vihar area of jammu district today and decamped with 7 tolas of gold and Rs 40,000 cash.
Owner of the house, Deepika Soni, who runs a Salon in the locality, claimed the incident happened when she was not at home.
“I left my place around 1 pm and two hours later, my sister informed me about the theft,” Soni said.
According to her, the thieves used an LPG cylinder to break open the main door of the house and then other equipment to break the lockers to steal around 7 tolas of gold and Rs 40,000 cash kept in an almirah.
The woman said that the locker of her tenants, who were not at home, has also been broken by the thieves but she was not sure about the amount of gold and cash stolen from their property.
The woman also alleged that no FSL team was dispatched to the area to investigate the crime scene.
SDPO Domana Mudassir Hussain, when contacted, said he will look into the matter.
Meanwhile, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Domana and further investigation taken up.
