ammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has welcomed the Union Budget 2025-26, presented by Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it a pragmatic and visionary roadmap for India’s economic transformation. He expressed gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for steering the country towards rapid growth with bold reforms that benefit the poor, youth, farmers, and women.
“The revised tax structure is a historic step that will bring immense relief to the middle class. The increase in the TDS limit on rent, social security enhancements, and measures to formalize the gig economy reflect the government’s commitment to economic empowerment,” LG Sinha stated.
Emphasizing the budget’s focus on agriculture and rural prosperity, he highlighted the Agri District Programme as a transformative initiative aimed at strengthening rural economies and ensuring social equity. He further noted that the budget will significantly boost infrastructure, MSMEs, energy, innovation, and employment generation, laying the foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth.
“India remains the fastest-growing major global economy, and this budget will further accelerate private sector investment and transformative reforms across key sectors,” LG Sinha remarked. He reaffirmed the UT administration’s commitment to aligning Jammu and Kashmir’s development agenda with the national vision of Viksit Bharat, ensuring that the benefits of this budget reach every citizen.
