JAMMU, Jan 24: The Crime Branch Jammu has booked two individuals— a teacher and a former PHE employee— for securing Government jobs using fake qualification certificates.
A Crime Branch official said that a written complaint was filed by one Sonu Kumar, a resident of Kurlian, Tehsil Kalakote in District Rajouri, alleging that Gulzar Hussain, a teacher at Government Primary School Nadan Khetar under Education Zone Kalakote, had gained employment using a forged qualification certificate.
He said the Crime Branch’s investigation confirmed that the certificate in question was fake, causing a loss to the Government exchequer.
In a separate complaint, the Crime Branch official said one Zaffar Din from Bain Bajalta, Jammu, reported that one Ghulam Rasool, a former employee of the Jal Shakti PHE Mechanical Rural Division, Jammu, had been regularized in service based on a fake qualification certificate.
The inquiry revealed that Rasool’s certificate was also found to be counterfeit, he said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Branch Jammu, Benam Tosh, confirmed that two cases, FIR Numbers 09/2025 and 10/2025, have been registered for further investigation, as the complaints and evidence suggest the commission of cognizable offences.
