JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23: Under the overall supervision of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Dr. Devansh Yadav and Director Health Services Jammu Dr Rakesh Magotra, an intensified fogging drive was today launched by Joint Venture of Directorate Health Services Jammu and Jammu Municipal Corporation from UMCP office Parade.

4 fogging teams shall be operational in Jammu Municipal Corporation jurisdiction daily. The fogging shall be done in areas where even a single case of Dengue or Chikungunya is diagnosed.

The drive was launched in presence of Dr. D J Raina, State Malariologist, J&K, Dr, Vinod Sharma, Health Officer, Vijay Tiwari, IEC Consultant and Mohan Lal, AMO in UMCP Parade among others.

On the occasion, the role of various preventive measures was emphasized. The situation of Dengue is well under control and with the coordinated efforts of JMC and Directorate of Health Services Jammu, all possible necessary actions are being taken including vigorous IEC campaign, anti-larval measures, spraying, maintaining the Gambusia fish in the ponds and fogging besides others. Adequate testing facility and designated wards and beds are available in hospitals besides platelet transfusion wherever required. 104 helpline of National Health Mission is being utilized for any issues faced by the community and for addressing their queries.
