The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday said that they have nabbed a land grabber and have suspended Chowki officer in a murder case that took place in Greater Kailash area of Jammu, due to land dispute.
The police has apprehended land encroacher Gola Shah and has put on suspension Chowki Officer Puneet Sharma allegedly in the murder case of the youth, who has been identified as Avtar Singh resident of Greater Kailash of Jammu.
The sources have said that the incident took place when some unidentified goons entered in the plot of the deceased Avtar Singh and badly thrashed him, following which he sustained severe head injuries in the presence of Chowki Officer, Puneet Sharma and his police team. Later, he succumbed to his wounds.
“In 2004, we purchased this land and we have land registry documents also. The Chowki Officer is involved with goons and forcefully entered our land”, deceased Avtar Singh found saying in a video report.

However, the local police earlier nabbed land snatcher Gola Shah and arrested Parshottam, who is the key accused. The family of the deceased has alleged that the suspended police officer has taken a huge bribe to aid land snatchers.
Sources have said that more arrests of influential people will follow as a probe is going on in this matter.
