Vehicles seized for illegal mining in Jammu

Continuing vigorous drive against illegal mining launched by Samba Police, seven (07) more vehicles have been seized which were being used for illegal mining in district Samba.

Police teams of Police Station Purmandal, Police Post Rakh Amb Talli, Police Post Rajpura, Police Post Utterbheni and Police Post Supwal have seized seven (07) more vehicles being used for illegal mining at their respective jurisdictional areas.

The seized vehicles are one (01) dumper bearing registration No JK21-9398, four (04) tractor trolleys bearing registration No. JK02CW-0769, JK02CH-8702, JK21G-9653, JK21B-7164 and two (02) tractor trolleys without bearing registration Nos.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that total two hundred fifty (250) vehicles have been seized in past eleven months for illegal mining by Samba police after launching special drive against illegal mining. Police would not allow illegal mining in Samba district and would take yet more stringent action against mining mafia in Samba district, if illegal mining not stopped.
